PART III

The bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City claimed 168 lives, and injured almost 700. The explosion damaged 324 buildings, and destroyed 86 cars, causing around 652 million dollars of damage. This was the first terrorist attack of this scale carried out inside our national borders. This bombing caused people to really focus on how they can prevent this type of terrorism in the future. Security began to crack down, installing metal detectors, cameras, and bollard barriers in public places. Due to these increased types of security, we are forced to sacrifice some of our personal freedoms.
